Let Betsy Megalos apply her decades of Naturalist experience and MS in Horticulture to get you started towards an edible, more sustainable garden experience!

Edible Garden Consultations- $175/session

This session is designed to help a DIY person get started with the process of planning an edible garden and can aid modifying your current landscape plan towards a more sustainable, edible garden.  This informal and informative consult usually takes 1 ½ to 2 hours on site plus two hours of studio time. Beyond that, there is a charge of $55/hour, including studio time. During this informal and informative session, I will discuss- at your property- your needs and concerns, point out any issues with soil, site, sun and make recommendations.  I will send you a written summary and a suggested plant list for you to keep. 

Edible Garden Coaching- $175 minimum for first visit

For persons desiring hands-on, how to assistance, this includes 1 ½ to 2 hours of contact time on your site.  Great for learning how to divide up plants, developing a planting strategy, proper methods of seed sowing and seedling care,  staking up tomatoes, soil testing and more..

Subsequent visits $75/hour. Working individually with the homeowner, I teach while working with you in the garden.

Additional conditions and fees
Rates quoted are for locations in the City of Raleigh, Cary, Apex and Morrisville.  Additional travel fees may apply for locations outside of these city limits.

I work in most weather conditions. I will work if it is raining lightly, but will not work if it is pouring. I also have a “too hot” and “too cold” limit. This limit varies on the time of year and humidity.

Hours:  Please make an appointment. I am generally available Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday on an as needed basis.
